The Ol' Ranch House on the Gila

Martin Mountain B & B: Country Vacations

The Gila Wilderness offers something for everyone who enjoys a natural, forest/mountain environment.  The Catwalk is the closest Forest Service park, which includes hiking Whitewater Canyon as the early miners did, picnicking under the sycamores along Whitewater Creek or just enjoying a cool mountain canyon.

Camping is enjoyed by many in the area, Glenwood offering a small campground along Rt. 180, another on Catwalk Rd , and Cottonwood and Pueblo Park offered by Forest Service a few miles north.  Forest Service, Glenwood, will provide maps and trail directions for hiking, fishing, birding etc.

Driving Tours may include a trip to Glenwood, two miles north of The Ol' Ranch House, where food, drinks, and gift shops are available.  And   Alma where you'll pass the WS Ranch where the Wild Bunch is said to retreat to cowboy between lawless endeavors. It seemed that lawlessness decreased in the area when Jim Lowell and his cowboys were present.

Cooney's Tomb combines tales of Buffalo Soldiers at Ft. Bayard and gold and silver mining on the Mogollons.

The "ghost town" of Mogollon is open to the adventurous from late April thru October usually.  It includes a Museum, Cafe, Gallery, B & B, and occasionally special events that feature a live band.

The town of Reserve , Rt. 180 to Rt.12, is the home of the Elfego Baca story done by Disney; and the County Courthouse .  Wedding licenses are available here.

Luna is a alpine-like village with a Trading Post, Cafe and Post Office all.
