Double E Ranch is the home of your hosts, Debbie and Alan Eggleston

Debbie and Alan Eggleston are living their life-long dream of owning their own working cattle ranch! Debbie, a former Admin Assistant, and  Alan, a recently retired  Airline Pilot,  have both had a long-standing passion for Cowboys, Horses, and the Old West.  They are now  lucky enough to be living their dreams at the Double E Ranch in Gila, NM!  Alan is an expert horseman, patient instructor.  They've been sharing  this spectacular New Mexico ranching lifestyle with folks like you since 1997 when they opened their doors for guest ranching.

You're invited to participate in the daily ranch activities and ride for the Double E Brand.  You'll begin your visit as guests but most guests usually leave the Ranch as friends!  Why not join them for the experience of your lifetime!

RJ Hobbs, Ranch Manager:  RJ is a long-time resident of New Mexico and loves everything about horses, ranching, cattle, roping, shooting and riding.  He's friendly, knowledgeable, and a real professional at everything he does.  Your safety is his primary concern - but he'll make sure you have an exciting ride, too!   He'll answer your questions and is eager to share his cowboying skills with you.  A week with RJ is a week spent with authentic Old West.  We know you'll enjoy riding with him!  RJ is also in charge of Double E Ranch Cowgirl Camp.  Gentle, but direct, he'll encourage you to reach your goals, challenge you to push beyond them and assist you in making it all happen!

Bill Marcy:  Recently retired from the "real world" back East, Bill has made the move and become a New Mexico "native".   Possessing a warm, easy going nature, brilliant sense of humor, quick wit and charm Bill will make you feel right at home.  One of his greatest joys is sharing his love of the West with you.

Mark Rinsler has a warm and easy going nature and is eager to share the history of the land and the Old West, especially while riding out on horseback with Guests at Double E Ranch .  "Mark makes the land come alive"!  Why not sign up for one of Mark's rides and experience a gentler version of New Mexico's "wild west"!

Lucy Acosta is responsible for all the cooking at Double E Ranch.  She's creative with food, both Mexican and American dishes and makes sure your meals are on time and plentiful.  Always smiling, it's a pleasure to see her in the kitchen every day!

Francisca Hernandez, Head of Housekeeping:  On your arrival at Double E Ranch you'll find a comfortable cabin presented to you sparkling clean, with fresh bed linens and plenty of thick towels.  She will make sure coffee, tea, cream, sugar are freshly stocked.

Double E Ranch Dogs:

"Jammer" and "Precious"

Both "Jammer" and "Precious" are Catahoula dogs, bred for hunting wild hogs in the southeast.  Ranchers found they work well for gathering cattle in the rugged, brushy southwest.  When these dogs find cattle, they will bark and circle the cows, keeping them bunched till human help arrives.

"Tilley"

"Tilley" is also a Catahoula.  These dogs are loyal, friendly, protective, loving and eager to please.  We love our Catahoula dogs!

"Shadow"

"Shadow" is our Australian Shepherd and follows Alan everywhere he goes.  She loves joining him for a cattle drive, helping to push cows back to headquarters.
