Hiking
The Gila

Those of us living in Silver City appreciate the diversity of this small town. The arts, the weather and the people make up some of the reasons why we live here; the Gila Wilderness is another.

As a 20 year resident of Catron and Grant counties, I have been day hiking throughout the Gila forest and wilderness areas. Over the years, I have visited isolated hot springs, hundreds of archaeological sites, including ruins, petroglyphs and even fortified sites.

I have found great rockhounding areas, including prime locations for Catron County's gem quality feldspar, Bytonite. There are even some fossil sites near Silver City. The scenery here in the Gila is like no other place on earth.

As an artist and photographer, even after 20 years, I have come to realize I am just barely scratching the surface of this unique land.

I am offering very specialized one day trips into the Gila. The smaller the groups, the better. I will work with you to customize an outing that will address ONLY your needs and interests, at a physical level that will be comfortable for you.

Call, write or E Mail me at the addresses below, and let's put together a Gila experience designed exclusively for you.
